Review Policy

Updated 7 October 2026

Checkamfirst helps people learn from real experiences with businesses. These rules apply to reviews, evidence, comments and business replies.

Share your own experience

Review a business you personally bought from or dealt with. Explain what you ordered, what arrived and how the business handled any problems. Positive and negative experiences are both welcome. Do not pretend to be a customer or review on someone else's behalf.

Attach genuine evidence

Every review requires evidence relating to the experience, such as a receipt, payment proof, order or chat screenshot, or a photo of what arrived. Share only material you have the right to share. An attachment does not mean Checkamfirst has verified the transaction or every statement in the review.

Protect personal information

Review evidence is publicly accessible. Before uploading, blur or crop account numbers, phone numbers, home addresses, unrelated private messages and faces you do not have permission to share. Do not upload passwords, identity documents or sensitive personal information. Include only what is necessary to explain the experience.

Content that is not allowed

  • Fake experiences, fabricated evidence, manipulated ratings or impersonation. Do not pose as a customer to review your own business or a competitor.
  • Payment, gifts or discounts used to manufacture positive ratings or make someone change or remove criticism.
  • Threats, harassment, hate speech, sexual content or personal attacks.
  • Unsupported criminal allegations. Describe what happened and what you can substantiate.
  • Spam, advertising or unnecessary personal information about other people.

Publication and moderation

Reviews publish immediately after successful submission. We do not routinely approve every review or verify every attachment before publication. We may assess reports and remove contributions from public view when they break these rules or applicable law.

A negative rating or a business's disagreement is not, by itself, a reason for removal. Businesses cannot pay to erase criticism. An approved business representative can reply publicly and report a specific breach, but cannot edit or remove a customer's review.

Reports and reconsideration

Use the report option on the relevant contribution and explain the concern. A report does not automatically hide content. We assess the available information and may retain, hide or restore a contribution. If you think a decision was mistaken, contact the team with the content link, decision and reason for reconsideration. Do not repost sensitive evidence publicly. We do not promise a fixed decision time.

Withdrawing your review

You can withdraw a published review through your account. Its record is retained for accountability. Withdrawal hides the review from normal public display; it does not currently delete uploaded evidence or copies shared elsewhere. Anyone with an existing public file link may still be able to open it. Self-service review editing is not currently available. See the Privacy Policy for personal-data requests.
